Turtle Inn is an iconic beachfront resort on the Placencia Peninsula in Belize, set along a stretch of white sand just steps from the water. The resort is close to the town of Placencia and is owned by Francis Ford Coppola, wines served in the restaurant are from his Californian vineyard.
Rooms: The hotel has 25 rooms with individual thatched cottages, decorated with handcrafted Balinese furnishings, naturally cooled by the ever-present sea breezes (no air-conditioning).
Dining: Offering fresh seafood and traditional Italian cooking come together at Turtle Inn’s flagship restaurant. Local fish is brought in daily from the fertile reefs just offshore and fresh vegetables are delivered from our organic garden. Our changing daily menu offers such dishes as ceviche and gazpacho, fish cooked in a sea-salt crust, and a selection of pizzas made to order in our wood-burning oven.
Onsite: Facilities includes sunset spa and PADI diveshop. The resort also owns a palm dotted private island that guests can stay (with private chef) located off the coast of Placencia.
